Bomminampadu is the first community in India to use WaterHealth International’s integrated, community-water system. Shortly after the facility’s completion, the community experienced positive results:
- Initial adoption rates were at 60 percent of households in this community of 3,200.
- Local panchayat leaders have noticed a dramatic reduction in waterborne diseases.
- Students of a local school created their own fund to purchase water.
"I feel as if I have given a new lease of life to my village. By drinking this good water, they will enjoy good health and live a good life."
- Sarpanch: M. GangaBhaima
"This is the very least I can do for the birthplace of my forefathers. There are younger generations to come that will enjoy the benefits of this safe, good water and lead to the overall prosperity of our village."
- Donor: Shri. J. Choudary MP
"This is definitely good water and I am going to ask everyone to drink this water so they can become healthy and reduce water borne disease incidents. After all, health is wealth. Missing 2 – 3 days work every month due to illness caused by water-borne diseases also means missing pay on those days. That is something none of us can afford to have happen."
- Dr. K.L. Kantha Rao (MBBS)
