The supply and safety issues associated with centralized water treatment and delivery are daunting in the Philippines, where an estimated 30 million out of 83 million people lack access to clean drinking water.

The Philippines was one of the first countries where WaterHealth introduced commercial systems. In the country since 1997, WaterHealth's focus to date in the Philippines has been on building urban water store franchises (now over 50 across metropolitan Manila) and providing urban residents with high-quality water at a very affordable price.

WaterHealth is now expanding into rural areas of the Philippines with its community water-system offering. WaterHealth will work closely with local financial institutions to provide purchase financing facilities to accelerate the pace at which we can reach these new markets.
